Free, no obligation
Cookies and similar technologies (local and session storage) are small pieces of data a website stores in your browser. This page lists everything SolarQuote Group stores, why, and for how long. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data more generally.
Strictly necessary
The site needs these to work, so they don't need your consent. None of them track you.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| sqg:postcode | Session storage | Carries the postcode you enter on the home page into the quote form. | Until you close the tab |
| sqg:thanks | Session storage | Shows your first name and matched installer on the thank-you page. | Until you close the tab |
| sqg:cookies | Local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we don't ask again. | Until you clear it |
Analytics (only if you accept)
We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to understand how people use the site. These are only set if you choose Accept. If you reject them, or haven't chosen yet, we count visits anonymously without storing anything on your device and without recordings.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| ph_…_posthog | Cookie and local storage | PostHog analytics: an identifier that links your visits, so we can see how people use the site and where forms go wrong. | 1 year |
| ph_… (session) | Session storage | PostHog session recording: a replay of page activity. Anything you type is hidden. | Until you close the tab |
| sf_session_id | Session storage | A random reference for your visit to our quote form, sent with your quote request so we can tell one visit from another. | Until you close the tab |
| sqg:visit | Session storage | Notes which advert, if any, brought you to the site (the tags on its link), so a quote request records which advert it came from. | Until you close the tab |
Advertising
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
Changing your choice
You can accept or reject analytics cookies at any time:
If you reject them after accepting, we delete PostHog's stored identifier from your browser. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time.
